1) Correct yesterday's exercises:

     1) People discovered fire around 790,000 years ago. Thanks to this discovery they could protect themselves from wild animals, cook their food and make weapons (armas) and tools.
     2) One of the oldest cave paintings is in Spain, in the cave of Altamira.
     3) In the Paleolithic period people made tools from wood, stone and animal bones.
     4) Prehistory started 5 million years ago, and it is the time before we invented writing.
     5) The first humans lived in this continent: Africa.
     6) Prehistory is divided in Paleolithic, Neolithic and the Age of Metals. The oldest and longest period is the Paleolithic, when people moved from one place to another to get their food.
     7) The Neolithic started only 10,000 years ago when people became sedentary with the practice of agriculture and cattle raising.
     8) During the Neolithic people invented the wheel, the sail, the loom (el telar), the plow (el arado) and the pottery (cerámica).
     9) Finally in the Age of Metals, people learned how to get metals from the stones. Some examples are copper, bronze,iron and gold.
